I’m working on a couple of branding projects for my business that are super exciting and fun but probably won’t have an immediate financial impact on my business. Long-term however, they will be great tools to help me grow.

As business owners, we must be disciplined to spend 80-90% of our time on those activities that drive revenue because without revenue there will be no need for the branding projects. The tendency is to get distracted by the fun things and almost lie to ourselves about what’s important but then want to cast blame when our businesses are not where we want them to be.

What are you focused on today? Are you spending the majority of your time putting out fires, working on long-term projects, or are you disciplined and spending the best part of your day focused on activities that drive the greatest result and revenue? Prioritize your time. Then be disciplined to stay focused appropriately.
