If you knew the end of the story, would you be scared in the middle? Recently, I was watching the documentary Free Solo, and I had this experience. My heart was pounding for Alex as he free soloed El Capitan, but because I knew how it ended, I enjoyed the experience and was cheering him on. If our thoughts and words create our reality, then don’t we already know how our stories end? In fact, that’s how Alex mastered his fear and achieved the impossible. He visualized and rehearsed every part of that climb until he could do it almost without effort. He didn’t talk about how impossible it was. He focused on doing it successfully. What if we applied that same visualization to our success in business? What if we talked about million dollar futures? Could more of us achieve the impossible?
